    In the Song “This Is How We Do It” from Montell Jordan, He talks about going to a party with his friends on a Friday night in his neighborhood on the westside. Later in the song, Jordan talks about growing up without any money in the year 1994, until he met a DJ named Paul and became a success through the collaboration of their musical talent. I believe Jordan’s reason for work is to exploit the reality of where he lives. He mentions “all the gangbangers forgot about the drive-by”. Jordan works to enjoy the finer things in life, like partying with friends, and flirting with girls, also becoming a product of his own environment.
