The most interesting concept that I found in Botton was the fact that he acknowledged that fact that accidents do happen. Most people will tell you that you can do anything and become anything you want, no matter where you are from or how you were raised. But what Botton goes over is the fact that we never know what people have gone through. We don't know if someone had gotten into a life threatening accident or even was born into a low income family. In a perfect world someone born in Compton could grow up to become a CEO of a company, now in a rare case they could. But that is not always the case, most are not that fortunate. Most people born in Compton or a small farm town do not become the CEO of a large company simply because of where they were born.
